Select a physical voice in Browse voices or eSpeak Voice variants and press
V. Choose an existing personal palette or create one. Creation copies entries,
adjustments, and fallbacks from your chosen source. All effective names,
including default and inherited entries, are reviewed.
The review starts at default. Up/down selects rows, O plays original,
P proposed, B compares both, and A compares representative voices.
S stops; x details descendants, retained fallbacks, and playback results.
An unavailable selected physical voice may cause fallback.
If an entry already contains the exact physical choice, the review moves that choice to the front and preserves its tuning. When several choices match, only the first moves; the others keep their order. A newly added choice follows that entry’s shared adjustments, while existing choices keep their individual tuning. Saving makes inherited entries complete local entries.
This review changes the entries once. Later edits are independent, and names inherited in the future do not automatically acquire the chosen physical voice.
w saves the review and applies the palette to both streams; c saves without selection or application. Startup is separate. C-c C-k cancels an unsaved review without writing; q returns to the browser but retains it. Its actions menu offers Resume palette voice review.
Use r to resolve other unsaved voice editors before continuing, then refresh this review with g. Refresh it after saved inputs change as well. If only some saving steps succeed, the original proposal remains available for retry with the same action.
A failure on one speech stream does not undo a successful palette save. Retry and inspect the result for each stream. Selecting another palette ends that pending retry; to use the saved palette later, select it deliberately through Voice Palettes. Close saved result closes a completed review without undoing its data or changing the selection.
