This module speech enables flyspell. It loads flyspell-correct if available and uses its native completion interface by default, allowing the active completion frontend (such as Vertico) to present corrections. Three alternate styles remain available:

Waveform and optional ADSR envelope of the spelling tone. Waveform is sine, triangle, square, pulse or sawtooth. Pulse requires :pulse-width from 0.05 to 0.95. Omit the envelope for Classic fades. ADSR contains :attack-ms, :decay-ms, :sustain-level and :release-ms. Times are integer milliseconds from 0 to 60000; sustain is from 0 to 1. Optional :end-frequency-hz makes a linear pitch sweep; :envelope-curve selects linear or exponential ADSR. These extensions need extended-tone support. Total duration stays fixed: oversized stages are shortened proportionally. Non-Classic shapes require richer-tone support. Older workers omit the tone; explicit previews report missing support. Speech and earcons remain usable.

When to play spelling tones during reading. ‘insert’ finishes each tone before its flagged word, adding a pause. ‘overlay’ plays alongside the word without inserting a pause for the tone. This global setting does not change voice or earcon feedback. Editing feedback and tone-only previews have no accompanying speech to overlap.

Spelling tone volume as a percentage from 0 to 100. Zero silences the tone; 100 preserves its original level. The shared ‘tts-main-tone-volume’ still scales the result. Values below 100 require a worker with richer-tone support; older workers omit that tone while retaining speech and earcons. Preview reports missing support.
