Common logical table formatting and navigation. Adapters supply complete cell values and source positions; reading never calls native table editors. Agent Shell retains its public commands and presentation preferences.
Copy the logical cell as plain text.
Copy the logical column as newline-separated plain text.
Copy the logical row as tab-separated plain text.
Leave table reading and move to preceding prose.
Leave table reading and move to following prose.
Read a Markdown, Org or tabulated list table in place. Use a Control-Meta arrow inside a table to enter reading and move, or use the speech prefix followed by C-t C-r to toggle reading. Up/Down read logical rows, C-M-Left/Right read cells, and r/c read rows/columns. TAB moves right without editing and RET reads the cell. q restores normal mode keys. Leaving the table or editing its source also ends this context. Tabulated applications retain their action keys; use M-x reader commands when an action occupies a short key. This mode is independent of Markdown’s markup-stripping speech preference. This is a minor mode. If called interactively, toggle the ‘Emacsvox-Table-Reader mode’ mode. If the prefix argument is positive, enable the mode, and if it is zero or negative, disable the mode. If called from Lisp, toggle the mode if ARG is ‘toggle’. Enable the mode if ARG is nil, omitted, or is a positive number. Disable the mode if ARG is a negative number. To check whether the minor mode is enabled in the current buffer, evaluate the variable ‘emacsvox-table-reader-mode’. The mode’s hook is called both when the mode is enabled and when it is disabled. (fn &optional ARG)
Move COUNT logical columns right and read the destination cell. (fn &optional COUNT)
Move COUNT logical rows down, retaining the column and reading the row. (fn &optional COUNT)
Move COUNT logical columns left and read the destination cell. (fn &optional COUNT)
Move COUNT logical rows up, retaining the column and reading the row. (fn &optional COUNT)
Choose table titles or data order for this buffer. Press c for column titles, r for row titles, or o for data order. Agent Shell and Org editing feedback retain their existing preferences.
Speak the complete logical table cell at point.

Speak the current logical table coordinates.
Whether table cell data precedes or follows its titles.
Default Value:
first
Hook run after entering or leaving ‘emacsvox-table-reader-mode’. No problems result if this variable is not bound. ‘add-hook’ automatically binds it. (This is true for all hook variables.)
Default Value:
nil
Titles spoken with cells in the explicit table reader. Agent Shell retains its own table speech preferences.
Default Value:
