Aural Presentation is the Emacsvox system that decides how information and events should be heard. It can combine spoken text, voice changes, auditory icons, tones, pauses, and spatial cues in one ordered presentation. The speech server delivers that result; it does not decide what a heading, unread message, completed command, warning, or other object means.
You do not need to configure Aural Presentation before using Emacsvox. The built-in baseline and application integrations provide useful defaults. When you do want a change, start from the object you heard and use Aural Home rather than editing configuration data by hand:
Open Aural Home, the spoken control center for understanding, adjusting, and diagnosing presentation.
Explain why the object at point received its voices, sounds, and other actions.
This chapter gives a user-level model of the system and practical workflows for common changes. The generated reference remains the authority for rule schemas, transport contracts, and extension development.
